Neutrum Bear — Baby Gifts & Clothing Store

Neutrum Bear (UK)
Neutrum bear homepage

A UK WooCommerce store for baby clothing and gift sets, with custom product personalisation, a shoppable mega menu and Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal at checkout.

Project Overview

Neutrum Bear is a UK ecommerce brand selling baby clothing, gift sets and nursery essentials. This was a full ecommerce website development build on WooCommerce — a real shop with a catalogue, personalisation, multiple payment routes and a checkout, rather than a catalogue site with a contact form bolted on.

Baby gifting is an unusual category to sell in. Most buyers are not the parent — they are a friend, a grandparent or a colleague buying a present, often for a birth that has just happened. They are shopping to a deadline, they are not brand-loyal, and they want to know the gift will look thoughtful when it arrives. The store is built around that buyer.

Navigation that gets people to a product fast

A gift buyer usually does not know what they want, only roughly what they are looking for. So the mega menu shows every category and three best sellers with prices in the same panel — a shopper can go from hovering the menu to a product page in one click, without landing on an intermediate category page first.

The homepage repeats the same idea with a Shop by Categories block covering Towels, Nursery, Accessories and Blankets, so the two most common entry points both lead somewhere useful.

Personalisation built into the product

Personalisation is the reason a lot of these orders happen at all — a name on a blanket is what turns a £17 item into a gift. It is handled with a custom product add-ons module on top of WooCommerce, letting customers choose name, font and colour on the product itself and carrying that choice through to the order.

That is a genuine custom development job rather than a plugin install: personalised options have to survive the cart, the checkout, the confirmation email and the packing note, or the wrong thing gets embroidered.

A product page designed to remove hesitation

The product page answers the objections a gift buyer actually has, above the fold:

  • Free delivery over £50 and a free gift over £60, both stated as thresholds — which quietly raises basket value, because a shopper £6 short will add another item.
  • Estimated delivery dates, not a vague dispatch window. When you are buying for a new baby, "will it arrive in time" is the whole decision.
  • Optional gift message at checkout, so the buyer knows they can make it personal before they commit.
  • Easy 14-day returns, removing the risk of buying the wrong size.

Paying the way the customer prefers

Checkout offers Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Pay Later alongside card, with a Buy Now button that skips the basket entirely. Most of this traffic is on a phone, and a shopper who has to type a 16-digit card number on a phone is a shopper who often does not finish. Every one of these routes is a completed sale that a card-only checkout would have lost.

The store also runs wishlists, product comparison, bundled "bought together" recommendations, gift cards and pre-orders — the merchandising tools that lift average order value once the traffic is already there.

Built on WooCommerce, extended properly

The build runs on WordPress and WooCommerce with Elementor Pro, on a child theme so that template customisations survive updates — a small decision that saves the client from having their design wiped by a theme upgrade later.

Trust signals sit on the homepage where a first-time visitor sees them: free UK shipping, free gift, personalisation and secure payment through established providers.

If you are selling online and your store is not converting the traffic it already gets, tell us what you are running and we will come back with a fixed price and a realistic timeline. We also handle ongoing store maintenance, which for a WooCommerce shop is not optional — an unpatched plugin on a site taking card payments is a genuine liability.
